Mount Erciyes, Kayseri, Turkiye

This gigantic mountain overlooks the Cappadocia valleys and is a symbol of the city of Kayseri, in central Turkey. It is estimated that the first eruptions of this volcanic mountain started somewhere 30 million years ago and its lava and ashes forged the unique geography of this area.

It is well known to tourists that you can ski down this dormant volcano during the winter season, when Erciyes is covered by the thickest snow layer. After skiing the mountain, drive down to explore the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site of Göreme National Park and the Rock Sites of Cappadocia, or take a picture in breathtaking traditional Anatolian mountain villages with mount Erciyes on the background!
